Concentrations
(2009 - 2011 Catalog)
In addition to major requirements and the full range of general education and support courses, the curriculum provides an opportunity for students to specialize in certain areas through concentrations and emphasis areas. These courses are designed to fully educate and prepare students for cultural diversity, community engagement, and international understanding in a global society. Students may also choose to complete a minor rather than a concentration (Academic Minor Form). The RPTA department offers three official concentrations and two emphasis areas*:
Community Services Management (Emphasis Area)
Event Planning and Management (Conc)
Outdoor, Adventure, and Resource Recreation (Conc)
Sport Management (Emphasis Area)
Tourism Planning and Management (Conc)
* Note. Concentration denotes that the course of study has been officially approved as a concentration. An emphasis area is the similar to a concentration but without the official designation as a concentration.
